Why I Started My Fitness Journey — And What Keeps Me Going

2024-09-20 fitnesslifestylemotivation

Let me be real with you — I didn't start working out because I had some grand plan. I started because I looked in the mirror one day at 267 pounds and thought, this isn't the version of me I want to be.

The Wake-Up Call

There's this moment that hits every guy at some point. For me it was trying to keep up during a normal day and realizing I was winded doing basic stuff. At 6'4", I could hide the weight better than most people, but I felt it. Every single day.

What Actually Works (For Me)

I'm not going to sell you some miracle plan. Here's what's actually moving the needle:

The Mental Game

The hardest part isn't the workout. It's the days you don't feel like going. It's choosing the gym over the couch when you're tired from work.

But here's what I've learned: discipline beats motivation every time. Motivation is a feeling — it comes and goes. Discipline is a decision.

Current Progress

Started at 267. Currently sitting at 252 and dropping. Goal is 220.

That's 15 pounds down, 32 to go. And honestly? The journey is starting to feel like the reward.
